A name on Edinburgh's roofs for over two centuries

W & S Christie Roofing was founded in 1810, making us Edinburgh's longest-established roofing company. From the New Town's classical terraces to Stockbridge tenements, Morningside villas and city-centre commercial properties, Christie tradesmen have worked on Edinburgh roofs for more than two hundred years.

That heritage matters. Many of the buildings we work on are Victorian or older - traditional slate roofs, lead flashings, stone chimneys and cast-iron rainwater goods. These roofs demand specific knowledge and traditional skills, and our team has both.

A new chapter, the same standards

The business passed to its current owners in 2016, who took on the company with a clear commitment: to continue the Christie name as it has always been known - for reliable, professional work and proper customer care. Nothing about how we work, how we treat clients, or the standard of finish we deliver has changed.

Our team

We are a small, experienced team of fully qualified roofers. Many of our tradesmen have been with the company for 12 years or more - they know Edinburgh's housing stock, they know each other, and they take pride in the finished job. You'll see the same faces on site from start to finish.
