Don't let a blocked gutter ruin your stonework

Overflowing gutters are the single most common cause of damp on Edinburgh's stone tenements and townhouses. Water cascades down the wall, soaks into the sandstone, and within a few seasons you have damp on internal walls, blown plaster, and an expensive repair bill. A routine clean and inspection is a fraction of the cost.

Gutter cleaning and clearing

We clear gutters, hoppers and downpipes, flush them through, and report on anything that needs attention - sagging brackets, split joints, rusted sections or missing outlets. We work safely at height with proper access equipment.

Heritage cast iron and modern systems

On traditional stone buildings we'll usually recommend cast iron or cast aluminium ogee profiles, which suit the building and last for decades. On more modern properties, high-quality PVC or seamless aluminium is a sound, affordable choice. Whichever system you choose, we fit it to fall properly and to the right capacity for the roof it serves.
